Having a child with feeding difficulties is hard
Rise Up Pediatric Therapy has many years of experience working alongside children and their families to better understand what each child may be experiencing and is needing during meals. At the core of our intervention strategies is the relationship between the child and their parents/caregivers. This relationship is often stressed because of the feeding challenges both the parent/caregiver and the child have been through. The first step in our process is to repair and strengthen this relationship so both the child and their parents/caregivers feel safe and happy during mealtimes.

Satisfied Customers
"We have been working with Sarah for the past few years and she has taught us so much about our daughter and why she has the difficulties she has. We have successfully weaned off of her feeding tube and she is maintaining her nutrition well. Sarah helped us to see that our daughter's "behaviors" were not based in disobedience but rather in the only way she knew how to communicate that she felt scared. Without Sarah's help we would not be where we are today."

I learned so much about what my son's body actions meant in just our first meeting together. Sarah helped me understand that my son's body movements during mealtime were actually a way that he was communicating a need. By understanding that his turning away from the table allowed him the opportunity to self regulate because the visual input of the food was too much we began to read his cues better. Our mealtimes are so much more fun now!

Meals have always been a power struggle in our home. I held onto a lot of control around trying to get my child to eat the food I put out for them. Sarah helped me learn Ellen Slatter's division of responsibility. I decide what is put out for meals, and my child decides which items and how much they will put into their body. This has really helped our family get back to peaceful mealtimes.
